'96 GSR bogs/sputters hard during WOT
Specs: 96 gsr in 91 CRX Si
Under normal easy acceleration the car drives great all the way to redline, even engages VTEC smoothly. However under WOT the car wants to go literally no where. it bogs and sputters like crazy. I put a new stock replacement fuel pump in the car when i put in the new gas tank. I have good pressure at the motor at idle (around 40) but when i go WOT from the throttle body it drops to about 30PSI.
When i turn the car to ACC the pump sounds like its gurgling... now stupid question, if there is not enough fuel in the tank could this be a reason...? i think my gas level indicator might be broken. I dont think the pump is going, its brand new. Any suggestions would be great. thank you.

[QUOTE=DCRB;48795221]what codes are you throwing?[/]
Throwing a code 10 - intake air temp sensor and a code 41 - heated o2 buy that's not plugged in so I already knew that.
I have a new inline fuel filter from jegs. I may replace the cap and rotor and see what that does as well.
Im going to check TPS wiring today i read somewhere that if its backwards it could cause a bog at WOT.

Took care of the 2 codes, now its no longer throwing any. Took it for a quick drive and it seems slightly better but still falls on its face when i put the pedel to the floor...
Also checked the TPS sensor, .52V closed, smooth transition up to 4.52V open
Ideas: Distributer cap and rotor?
Ignition timing? I dont have a timing gun so i cant check this yet
Fuel?
Help please

How are you handling your IAB control?
Did you ghetto zip tie them open?
Or is your ECU converted to support IAB off A17?
If you are converted, did you use a relay to make the trigger signal '+' (OBD2 GSR use '+' and OBD1 uses 'ground' trigger).
can you get an OBD1 P72 and make your engine happier?

I switched out the cap and rotor of the dizzy with some extra parts i found in the garage and it seems to have fixed the problem, but not completely. I also put a new O ring on the map sensor.

i know when my ef was bogging it was the dizzy itself. theres a camshaft position sensor in the dizzy itself and you cant buy the parts for it just a new dizzy so i got another dizzy and swapped out the internals. i know b series dizzy internals can be swapped with other b series dizzy internals vtec or not. same with d series. hows timing?

hows the condition of your wiring? i ran into a similar issue, would slowly rev fine but letting it decel in gear then trying to accelerate or going wot it would freak, my tps plug wasn't all the way in

Doesnt the map sensor just control the idle? But it appears to be fine
I Ran some tests on the dizzy last night and its reading lower than normal voltage at the ICM on the internals and the resistivity of the coil was about .2ohms of where it should be. Im thinking i may just buy a practically new distributer from a friend of mine.
Im fairly confident in my wiring, if gone over it several times. Good grounds etc.
Ill probably just get a new one for the hell of it considering how cheap they are, but i did the test to it and it had a good transition as i opened the throttle.
the thing i really want to note and ask here is if the internals of the dizzy are showing lower voltage and lower resistivity than normal would that = less spark/weak spark and therefor means im basically flooding the cylinders under wide open throttle cause all of the fuel isn't combusting?

Got the new distributor, just waiting on some fuel line parts to come in the mail so i can put my gas tank back in the car, getting them tomorrow. Will update tomorrow.
