91 EF civic hatchback randomly dies while driving but turns back on
My 91 standard 4-speed hatchback randomly dies while driving. It used to sputter before it died but now it just cuts off, no sputter, nothing it just dies. After I take out the key and put it back in the ignition, the car starts but not if I dont take it out the key first. It will keep driving but it will keep dying every 5 mins or so. I have replaced the main relay, the ecu, checked the plugs (some oil in two of the plugs) and replaced the top fuel filter and the distributor but nothing worked. After I changed the main relay it ran fine for about 2 days and then it started happening again. Then we replaced the ecu and the main relay AGAIN and it worked fine for about another 2 days but it happened again. What could it be?

I had the same problem 2 days ago.. It would just turn off and I would try and pop the clutch while still rolling and it wouldn't start, but if I turned the key all the way off it would start.. I replaced the ignition switch harness and back to running with no problems

As other people have said, either ignition switch or fuel pump are the most likely causes.
When it dies are there any lights on the dash?
