90 Hatch Suspension Setup - Opinions/Help?
So I've learned the 88-91 Civics are the most difficult Hondas to work on, whether it be suspension, or the lack of room in the engine bay (GSR swap). Anywho, I was looking into Function & Form Type 1s and Type 2s, as well as Ksport coilovers, but many have run into issues of the front not being that low, so I decided on Koni Yellows, Ground Control coilovers, and extended top hats. I would like to point out that my objective is to be low (not herrafrush, but not stock) and at the same time have a functional, yet comfortable ride. Difficult, I know. lol I'll be daily driving this, so no need for super stiff setups for autocross or anything. Just occasional backroad driving and some street drag racing.
First I'll post links to what I've decided on recently, and then I'll have questions at the bottom that I'd like to get feedback on.
Koni Yellows:
http://www.tunersports.com/koni-spor...ort_p2154.html
*I've decided on these over Tokico Blues, Illuminas, and KYB AGXs just because I've noticed people tend to favor Koni over a lot because they have proven to be great.
Ground Control Coilovers:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/330722184220...84.m1423.l2649
*My friend is running the Koni Yellows/Ground Control setup (without extended top hats) on his 91 hatch, and I think his spring rates are 350fr/250rr (standard, I believe). Which, isn't a bad thing, but someone on a thread recommended 350fr/450rr for daily driving. So I'll either get the standard spring rates, or get some custom ones depending on what feedback I get, or what others have posted.
Extended Top Hats:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/200879343740...84.m1423.l2649
*I know these are Ebay, but I've heard from several people that they perform the same as Ground Control's extended top hats. Not to mention they are half the price.
QUESTIONS:
1. Will I have to use anything from my stock struts, such as bump stops, or will I have everything with the Koni Yellows, Ground Controls, and extended top hats?
2. For daily driving, what would be the best spring rates to use?
I know there are tons of threads on this already, but I have a few different questions than the other threads I've read. I'm still new to suspension, so I apologize in advance if I say something that someone might find unintelligent. I'm still learning. Anyway, thank you!

I know you said you've decided on the Koni/GC combo, but maybe you could look into Progress suspension. They have a nice setup, and offer a few spring rate combos, and are 'full' coilovers (threaded body), not that it's a huge difference. Just throwing out more options.
And on spring rates:
Somewhere around the 3-400 range is ok for DD. The higher the spring rate in the rear, the more oversteer the car will have.

Well I'm not completely set on them. They're just at the top of my list right now, due to all the positive feedback. Progress coilovers look good, and the price is right on, but I can't find much feedback on them regarding 88-91 Civics, which bothers me. Have you personally used them, or know anyone personally who has? Preferably on an EF.
And for spring rates, would 350/350 be a good setup for daily, as well as some "track-like" driving? I like to hit up backroads sometimes. lol

I'm on Ebay sleeves now and I can't do it. lol I just need a good, reliable suspension setup. I'm probably going with the Yellows, GCs (350/350), and GC extended top hats.

Koni yellows with ground control sleeves will be perfect for what you are trying to achieve. I've had them and I love them. I've never used their top hats but it will only help you since they allow you to sit lower without adjusting the coilovers.
If you are going as low as I think you're going then you should definitely invest in front and rear camber kits. You also may end up hitting the strut tower mounts if you go too low. In which case you'll need to cut a hole there to allow your upper control arm or camber kit to fit.
How low do you want your jack points?

I have front and rear Ebay camber kits, which work fine, but I'm getting some Skunk2 front kits since my Ebay ones are adjusted all the way out and I still have some negative camber. I drive 2 hours every other week to school, so I can't afford new tires often.
I don't necessarily want to be slammed, but I want to sit flush when I get my Konig Wideopens 15x8 +20mm offset, so decently low. I also have a VW MK3 front lip, so I don't want to sit that low. I really just want a comfortable ride and still be able to slam it when I want, for car shows mainly.

No experience on the Progress coilovers, I've just heard good things about them, and they seem really nice for about the same price.
I currently have Koni Yellows on stock springs, and Im about to order the GC sleeves for them this week. Im going for 350 front and rear, maybe 380 front (B16 is heavier than I thought lol). I love the Konis so far, but cant wait to get stiffer springs in it! It rolls tooooo much haha.
I also have the front and rear ebay camber kits. They are working fine for me. I have just a bit or camber and still have room to have less.

I have a B18C1 in my EF hatch, so I may go 380 in the front as well. My Ebay front camber kit is maxed out, so I'll need the Skunk2 front camber kit. Plus the Ebay kit is hitting, where the Skunk2 kit will clear it.

Well, I just ordered mine. 350/350. $330 shipped! I think it will be fine. If not, I can just get a pair of 400lb for the front for like $120.

If you could message me when you get them installed and let me know how they ride, I would really appreciate it!

Yeah no problem! It might be awhile. They said it could take 5-10 days to get the custom rates shipped out. Then I have to find time to put them in... lol. Hopefully by mid february.
