90 EF Si with b18b1 help
I have a 1990 ef si with a b18b1 from a 95 automatic integra the transmission is a manual b16 with lsd. I believe the head is now warped seeing as how i drove it while hot and now the car no longer starts, but i do not know for sure if the head is warped or what is going on. What is the most cost effective method to get my car running again it will not start if i try to start it i hear a tssssss with air shootin out of the overflow tank for the radiator. Do i buy a new head? Can this one be fixed? And is it possible that my head as well as the block are pretty much screwed? Any advice can help thanks

Re: 90 EF Si with b18b1 help
Simple fix is to replace the entire thing with a good used engine. The other option of repairing what you have will ultimately depend on your mechanical ability, your time available, your proximity to machine shops, and most likely your budget. The amount of actual repair won't be completely revealed until the engine is opened up. It can be as simple as a headgasket replacement but most likely a certain amount of machine work will be required to make everything straight and within spec again.

I would check simple things first. Check oil for radiator fluid contamination (milky). Check radiator fluid for oil contamination. Check your timing, make sure engine rotates (ie water pump etc). Check your compression in each cylinder for manufacturer specs ( rent a compression tester from autozone or oreillys and you can return and get full refund)

I took head off it is not cracked but may be warped going to machine shop tomorrow to get them to check it out. I will also use a tester to see if the block is warped badly
