Ok, I've searched all over this forum, and can't seem to find anything about this. Everything that comes up is about the belt retractors in the floor and by the seat. What I'm talking about are the auto passive belt retractors above the front doors. They are in the far back position, where they should be when the door is closed. I get nothing when I open the doors, both on the driver side and the passenger side. Is there a fuse that is labled for these seat belts somewhere other then the driver side bottom dash fuse panel or the one under the hood, to the back left? I think it might be an electrical issue, but, I can't seem to find what fuse powers these things! The door switches work, as I can see, when the ignition is on, that a door is open.

It's a pain to have to unbuckle two belt to get out of the car!! Thanks for any and all help!!

your motors might be shot or the fuses on the positive battery are burned out...if you just want to disable them period, just remove the green plug from the black box located behind the stereo next to the firewall...if you never modified your seatbelts then you can take advantage of the free replacement and fixing of the automatic seatbelts by taking the car to any honda dealer...!!!

the cable that moves the seat belt could be snagged and overheating ithe system and poping the fuse.

SO, the fuses for these things are on the positive terminal? Well, it looks like someone replaced the positive cable, so, I'm not sure where to start to look for these. Where on the cable exactly are they supposed to be, right at the battery, or further down the line?

I'll look at the 'black box" that BiG ChOr!Zo talked about. It might have already been disabled. The car is 20 years old, I wouldn't be surprised!

About the seat belt replacement issue. I checked with one dealer, and they came out with paperwork. This paperwork stated that the only thing that could be replaced on the auto part of the seat belt would be the latch itself. This is ONLY if the latch is broken, which mine is not. I did hear, and see paperwork stating, that the seat belt retractors would be replaced if defective. I understand this as the mech that the seat belt winds back into when unbuckled. I would love to find paperwork that states the automatic belt system can be replaced. This would help my case at the dealer.

I believe its in the manual that came with your I believe that's where I read and got the idea to call the local dealer and they told me the same the big chorizo is talking about the will replace the motors if defective
