Default 89 SRX won't start

Help! Just bought my son an 89 CRX Si, took it on his first attempted drive with a manual transmission and after what seemed to be hours of jumping and stalling, the car would not start. I checked the starter and it is ok. I am not getting power to the #2fuse, whitch is called the starter signal switch. I tested this with the key in the start position and the clutch depressed.Any ideas what to check next? I'm thinking ignition switch or Starter/clutch interlock switch. Please help, I'd like to get himon the road soon so I can have my car back! By the way this is a great looking car with lots ok JDM parts inside and out.

Pull the clutch switch connector out, and then jump it; if the car starts then either the clutch switch has gone bad (I have spares ) or the clutch switch is no longer making contact with the pedal and the little rubber stopper has bit the dust.

by jumping do you mean put a jumper wire on the 2 wires? would this switch keep power from the fuse? Not doubting you, just want to make sure I understand.

thanks for the reply. You mentioned something about a rubber plug on the clutch pedal and I do have some pieces of rubber on the floorboard. When I tried to start the car with this switch depressed, I did this with my finger and the clutch pedal was not depressed, would that make a difference?

As long as that switch is depressed, and nothing else is wrong with the electrical/mechanical systems the car will turn over and attempt to start.

sorry for not replying, but I've been out of town due to a family illness. I have tried depressing the interlock switch and all it does is add another click when trying to start the car. The wiring to the relay that gave the second click gets hot if you engage the ignition a few times. Nothing but relay clicks when turning the key.Any more ideas?
I am fairly new to this forem and don't know how to get to the area where people ask questions. I have Installed a b16a into a 91 civic dx, and converted it from automatic to manual, added a tach, and other things. would love to provide help to others if I only knew how!
Please offer me more ideas to get my sons car started, and as to how I can access the area where others are asking for help.
Thanks, Dan

Are the plug wires in the correct locations?

plug wires are right. We can push and engage the clutchand it will run all day, turn it off and it will not start. starter does not work, only clicking from relays under the dash. No power to the starter signal fuse.
Still want to know how to see and reply to other users questions. not good with computers and haven't been able to find this link. please help
