I was able to install 88-89 doors on my 90 crx. There was some minor modifications (slight use of a hammer) to make it fit so I suspect with just some minor modifications, you can make it work
it was very easy
it was very easy

Ok here goes.
We have been doing this on a hatch for autox.
we put my 89 civic si doors on a 91 civic si.
They fit. Have to take all the door bet crap out of the door jamb. Black plastic stuff.
We have read that you all different types of fixes.
Well we tried it.
It works. but you can not go the other way due to difference in the door jamb area.
As you close the door you can see the door area difference.
I have read that you have to cut out the door jamb area in the 90/91 and replace with 88/89.
I have also read that the doors will not fit.
I have also read that you can use the 90/91 molding on the 88/89 doors to get rid of the wind noise.
I can tell you for a fact that dealing with the hatch the 88/89 doors fit on the 90/91 body. Not sure on windnoise, since it is a race car. Lots of noise anyway.
I'll be trying it with my street car.

the 90 91 doors are about 1/4 of an inch longer than the 88 89 doors. pain in the *** fitting a 91 door on my 88, but it works. leaks air like a mo fo on the freeway though
