Default 5 min crank pulley removal

Up to now i've done all the work on my CRX myself. But when it came time to change timing belt I called a pro. This guy came to my house. At first he tried using an impact gun. But that didn't work. So he brought out a jack stand, 1/2" breaker bar, a long *** extension, and a wierd looking wrench with a bike chain looking thing on attached to it. He wrapped the chain around the crack pulley, lock it and wedged the wrench against the engine mount. Then he placed the extension on the jack stand he had next to car. Stood on the breaker bar and the crank pulley loosend up. Then he used the impact. The entire procedure probably took less than 5 minutes.

I asked him what was that thing he used and he said it's a plumber's pipe wrench. But it was modified with a long chain. He said it's available at any plumber's store. But you have to make your own chain for it.

I just thought I would share this because there's a lot of people who are having a hard time taking the pulley off.

a 15 inch strong arm (new) since it broke my old one, and a new 17mm socket, since it also broke my two old ones, and a 3 foot pipe worked for my zc pulley

I ended up using an 18" breaker bar and a ten foot electrical conduit pipe. I barely was able to fit it in the garage.

use a forge steel socket, with a breaker bar and use the tube off a big car jack(the big long ones for like 5 tons) and use it to extend the breaker bar.... more power..... has worked for me before.....
