1991 Accord rough idle and more with AC on
Hi,
My 1991 Accord has problem to accelerate below 2500 rpm, the engine will choking under around 2500 rpm. The car doesn’t want to go even step on the gas pedal. My car is stick shift and all gears have same behavior. If I turn on air conditioning, choking crazier under 2500 rpm and the engine looks like going to die when stop. The acceleration becomes normal after 2500 rpm without chocking. I changed a new EACV (electronic air control valve), cleaned the EGR valve, EGR path and fast idle valve with carburetor cleaner but the problem still exist. I tried to check the idle speed as described in the Honda factory service manual, disconnected EACV 2P connector and the idle speed should be 550 +/- 50 rpm. But my car has 850 rpm. When I adjusted the idle adjusting screw to minimum the rpm stayed at 750rpm. I remembered I could adjust the idle to 550rpm few years ago without any problem. The engine will die if the screw idle adjusting screw turns too low or closed to minimum. But this time, the engine’s rpm stays at 750rpm when the idle screw turn to minimum. I also checked the vacuum houses but could not found any cracks. I am out of idea what is going wrong on my car, the chocking suddenly occurs and become more worst. Could anyone suggest solutions to solve this issue?
I am very appreciate for the help.
