1990 Honda Civic Ignition Lock Cylinder
I have a 1990 Honda Civic and I need to figure out how to get the new ignition lock cylinder in.
We have Chilton's and I have read instructions from other sources, but we still can't figure this out. The pin at the back of the cylinder will not lock into place.
Something I noticed, however, is that all instructions (including Chilton's) indicate that there should be sheer bolts on the lock cylinder, but there are none.
Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Re: 1990 Honda Civic Ignition Lock Cylinder
You have to drill out the bolts holding the Lock Cylinder to the steering Column.
Your new Lock cylinder should come with these new bolts called Sheer bolts, because when you tighten them down far enough they will tear off and hold the new Lock Cylinder in place.

The lock cylinder slid right out. There was no drilling involved and there are no sheer bolts with the new one. If the part we purchased did not look identical to what we pulled out, I would say that it was a part for a different car because there are no sheer bolts.
