1990 DX cluster lighting issue....
I have a 1990 Civic DX with a irritating issue that has defied repair for years...
The instrument cluster doesn't light up.
My dad and I have both checked, independently of each other and at separate occasions, the light bulbs themselves, the connections, etc.
Nothing. Bulbs are fine, no loose connections.
I just spent 8 hours tearing out the dash on the car, checking the wiring harness, and then reinstalling it.
No changes.
So, with a mild concussion from beating my head against the wall so much, I've been trying to find a wiring diagram to help me figure this out next time. However, I've been unsuccessful so far, despite several hours of browsing Google's results.
I'm at wits end with this, and I want to fix it. Can anyone point me to a wiring diagram, or provide some keen insight into what the hell is going on here?
EDIT: just rememberd some more details... (that's what I get for posting at 1AM...)
-The dimmer dial still worked, as the lights in the air conditioner button and the emergency flasher button would dim accordingly.
-The lights on the HVAC panel also didn't light up, but I can operate those by touch, so restoring the lights isn't a priority.
-Said lights in the HVAC panel would sometimes come on when I hit a bump just right, only to have them go out a few minutes later at the next manhole cover or pothole.

When my dash lights went out, everything in the cluster died, all power to the dash was gone.
The problem I had was a loose fuse...
Check fuses, just put ur hand in there and push against all the fuses with the car on and if u see anything change then u know...

No, I checked, the dimmer is fine. ran a test by spinning the **** while using a multimeter in resistance-testing mode. It changed resistance the whole way.
