1988 Civic transmisson throttle cable??
Hello forum my name is Adam and I am a noob to Hondas.
I recently picked up a 1988 Civic Hatchback, 1.5L d15b1 all stock.
The lady I bought it from swapped the manual trans out for an automatic for city driving..... the timing belt broke on her shortly after and she posted on CL for a screaming deal.
Long story short, bent some valves when belt broke so I recently replaced the water pump, belt, tensioner, gaskets and now a reman head with new head bolts.
the claimed the transmission was from a trustworthy source and was good.
HOWEVER.
I now have it running great, however from 2nd to 3rd IN D4 it winds up and doesn't want to make the shift, if I let off the gas it shifts. Also, on de-acceleration it fumbles a bit.
I looked through my manual and it gave me either a throttle B valve, or to check my adjustment on the "throttle control cable" ON the front of the transmission.
I checked this and behold the cable isn't there. The boot is, and about 3 inches of cable but nothing going anywhere. SO, I am troubleshooting THIS may be a big culprit in my shifting.
QUESTION IS THIS, I have searched through the web as well as book but cannot find where this cable is 1. sold or 2. where it hooks up too.
It looked like to where the throttle cable from pedal is but MINE doesn't look like it will receive another?
I am lost in searching and curious if anyone can fill me in on this PLEASE.
NOOB to an auto. Don't like em and plan to swap back once I can acquire the parts necessary.
THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Re: 1988 Civic transmisson throttle cable??
I really am searching. 44 views and no one?....
Just need to know if:
1.this transmission cable DOES in fact attach to the throttle body. if so, is an automatic throttle body different from the manual? As I said, it does not appear this car is set up to receive this auto cable?
2. Purchasing a new one. Is it just buying a throttle cable?
My civic manual thus far isn't giving me this information. Just info on adjustment.

Re: 1988 Civic transmisson throttle cable??
Just picked up a 1997 Accord (Auto) and I got one too. First time I've seen it, or probably noticed it.
The cable hooks onto my throttle valve. So when I gas it, it pulls up on the valve on the tranny too.
