Z6 tranny on Y8 block?

Re: (mugenhatch92)
It will fit and work well. Is there some reason you are doing this? The S40 (original Y8 transmission) has steel shift forks where the S20 (Z6 type) tranny has aluminum shift forks which are prone to breakage. Gear ratios are very similar. So, if you swapping just to swap - don't. If you need a tranny and can only get your hands on the Z6 it'll work just fine.
