Young&Broke Build
So after completing my first semester of college I decided to treat myself to small gift. I sold my truck to get myself a civic here are some pics of when i first picked it up. It came with a d15b7 swap that was awesome on gas but less than awesome on power.

So the faithful day finally came when my d15 blew up. COA: hydro lock slung a rod. Prime suspects: My friend and a 1.5' deep puddle. I was mad in the beginning but it just meant the build was starting early. So out with the old!!!

Re: Young&Broke Build
After hunting around for a while I came across a craigslist ad with a guy stating he had mountains upon mountains of B series stuff. So we talked and I was able to trade my d15b7 and tranny for a disassembled B20 some cash. I was aslo able to get my hands on a 2000 EM1 shell that my friend wrecked about 8 months back. The picture of the block is after it returned from the machine shop.

Re: Young&Broke Build
My plans are to put my b20 N/A in the car and have it as a daily driver maybe minor bolt ons such as headers, intake, exhaust and maybe a mild cam by either BLOX or Skunk2. I dont plan on making no more than 150-170 hp. And once I move back home probably make it into a b20vtec or b20 turbo on about 7 psi daily and 10 psi for racing.

Re: Young&Broke Build
B-series can handle 300hp stock boosted. Some of them already push near 200hp out of the box so if that is your goal you might as well just swap to one of those engines because 200 hp boosted on a B-series is, for lack of a better word, dumb. I'm making that now on a D-series.

I have a question If I put a stock b20 head on the block its my best bet to go with ARP non vtec head studs for reliability?

Theres no reason to put a head on without doing some work to it..
a valve job is quite cheap when u drop off the head. Fresh springs and retainers will always be better then 12-15 year old springs.
Maybe a little exhaust polish, cast mark removal.. If you want to help your self down the road, do whats right while you have it apart now.
