i have a 99 civic ex with the sohc d16y8 vtec replaced by the non vtec d16y7 from a 98 civic dx still using the y8 tranny, harness, and p2p ecu

it is now throwing engine check light for vtec

what would i have to do to run this setup, clear ecl and pass smog?

was the y8 a 5speed? if so u need to get a 3 wire iacv plug and wire it in and reverse the steps to do a 3 wire - 2 wire IACV conversion. if ur looking for a plug i should have one if ur interested PM me il try to give u as much length of wire i can and 3 pins to pin it to the ecu ...all u have to do is splice them in..... and u need a y7 auto or 5 speed ecu for ur application. running the y7 injectors will be more idea as they are 190cc vs the y8's 240cc's.
