Windshield Wiper Fun!!!
Im sure ill be able to figure this out myself when i have the time but i was curious if anyone else could pinpoint my problem before i waste half a friggin day trying to figure it out....
The windshield wipers on my 2000 si work fine in the 2 fastest positions(theres only 3 total) but when i turn them to the first position(where theyre supposed to go thru one wipe then stop for about 5 secs, then repeat) the wipers will go up and stop half way thru their sweep and not retract themselves down to their starting position below the windshield. also the function of the wipers where you push the wiper switch arm down and the wipers are supposed to go thru one entire sweep motion across the windshield is jacked up to. the wipers will only move if i hold down the wiper arm, as soon as i let off they will stop in whatever position theyre in.
Ive already replaced the wiper arm switch and it didnt do ****.
ANY IDEAS???

Probably the ICM(integrated control module), it's a box on the back of the fuse panel. One of it's functions has something to do with wiper control. Good luck.

My 95 hatch had a similar problem. The intermitent setting would not work at all except maybe once every 2 months. I never did figure the problem out. I just used the other 2 settings.

Fix the Intermittent Wipers on
’92-97 Civics
If the intermittent wiper feature doesn’t work on a
’92-97 Civic, do this:
1. Check the fuse. On ’92-95 Civics, it’s fuse No. 3 in
the under-dash fuse/relay box. On ’96-97 Civics, it’s
fuse No. 43 in the under-hood fuse/relay box. If the
fuse is OK but the intermittent feature doesn’t work,
continue with step 2.
2. Check the input from the ignition key switch to the
integrated control unit (ICU). An open in the ICU
input wire means that someone cut it to install an
aftermarket security system, or the ignition switch is
faulty.
On ’92-95 Civics, test the BLU/WHT2 wire. (Refer
to page 23-183 of the ’95 Civic S/M.)
On ’96-97 Civics, test the BLU/RED wire. (Refer
to pages 23-138 of the ’96-97 Civic S/M.)
