There shouldn't be a spring in there. But yeah, like he said, take the interior door panel off and sheck what's going on. You're there, you can inspect it; you'll have a better idea of what's going on.

Re: window wont roll up (civictunr_ls)
It sounds like what happened to mine last year. I have power windows so I don't know if it is the same or not, but the metal cable used to drive the window up and down started to fray. I don't remember why, it was rubbing on something. It cost ~$300 for a new windows regulator (motor is not sole seperately ). I got mine from a local yard for $150. For reference, my car is a 2000 Civic LX.
Hope that helps.

This is a really common problem with civics. Mine is like that right now. Either your track needs greased or the window regulator is bent (the x brace). I know that mine is bent because I forced it down when it was really cold outside.

Yup. Just take off the panel on the bottom. Don't take it completely off, it's a pain in the *** to get it back on. Disconnect the speaker plug and there is a 10mm with a washer right next to a hole in the metal of the door. Take out the 10mm and reach into the hole and pop the window back in the track. Put the 10mm back in and push the track as far back as you can. Roll up the window and then put some silicon lubricant on the track and you should be fine.

Just take the glass off and then take it out and bend it back or replace it. There is two bolts holding the glass on. A glass shop can do this to pretty quick if you got the money.
