Default Will a 49 state cat cause a CEL on a cali emission car?

So here's the thing. I have a 99 lx civic. I live in NJ but NJ/NY/PA all have cali emissions. I'm simply wondering if I use the 49 state legal cat will my car throw a cel. I don't have to pass smog or anything, I just have to pass inspection in NJ and all you need is no CEL to pass. I tried searching and searching but its kinda hard to filter through the search terms. Trying to see if I can save myself 300 or so dollars. Hopefully you's can help an old timer out.

As long as it's a quality cat it shouldn't throw a code.

Majestic's website doesn't list a california version of the lx civic. I just got done replacing the one on my hx which is a cali spec car but both 49 and cali use the same exhaust manifold/converter as they have the same part number. On the hx's the only thing different is the fuel mappings in the ecu.

So I would say that you will have no problems whatsoever.

I live in pa. We have no Cali emissions. Only a gas cap test and no cel.

Not as in emission test, the cars have stricter emission standards when built.
