Default White smoke from exhaust

hello i am getting white smoke out my exhaust but it dosent happen all the time.

will not smoke while idling
will not smoke on WOT

if i am cruising/ not pressing gas for example going down hill for ahwile when i punch the gas a big poof of white smoke comes out the exhaust. also sometimes in the morning i get smoke on startup.

at this point im not even sure if its water being burned or oil. and i just changed teh head gasket so thats not the problem.

White smoke = coolant
Blue smoke = oil

i am running a basemap from another motor so i am guessing its running rich

if not that i am guessing its my IM gasket thats the only thing that could leak water. i have on of those heat absorption ones and it may be failing.

rich mixture or burning fuel would be black smoke

thats normal condensation from after start up or from living in a cold climate.... notice it will go away after the car has been on for a while.

best way to put it is if it looks like a cloud pouring out the tail pipe it's water/coolant

if it turns blue at all it's oil.

camdizawg, if you havent done this already....have someone smell the exhaust when you give the engine some throttle, it will have a sweet odor to it if its burning coolant. excessive white smoke is an indication of water/coolant getting into the combustion chamber. drive the car for twenty minutes and see if the problem still persist. after the exhaust system gets hot enough it should burn off any if not all water vapors that would be from moisturization

Are you losing coolant at all? What type of oil weight and syn or con. oil using? Possibly is your throttle body leaking?

Hi, I just bought this 1995 honda accord 2.2 the guy said it burnt little oil, 1 qt per 100 miles when started and drove to my house like 45 min drive had no smoke coming out. I got it home changed the plugs to NKG iridium, and found no air filter installed so installed air filter. Now when i start it it smokes really bad like i am running sea foam thru it. If it sits and idle its not that bad, but if i hold the gas to 3000 rpm it will smoke you out!!! I dont understand that changing plugs and putting an air filter in would cause this. I also changed the valve cover gasket and plug seals . Anyone have any ideas? its not coolant as it is not sweet smell, and it dont smell like burnt oil its like very rich mixture smell but the smoke is whiteish in color. I was hoping someone ran accross this. I am planning putting old plugs back in and taking air filter back out and start it see if it is still smoking .
Thanks ahead of time
Jeffro
