No, that is where you fill it. There isnt a dip stick you remove the plug on the other side and down a bit, thenfill it till fluid comes out. It will be a plug with a spot for a 1/2 rachet, do not over tighten it.

the drain plug uses a 3/8" ratchet on this side at the bottom, and just above it a bit, almost level with the axle hole is a 17mm plug, fill it till it runs out. If your axles aren't in it well leak out there instead

i think that up top is just a breather hole not sure so don't flame me for this. but the filler plug is located near the axle and it is a 17mm bolt. fill it till fluid comes out of that hole then close it. never overtighten it you could crack the aluminum or ruin the threads!
