In the distributor base, you have to replace the whole base.

the sensor's basically a magnet and your distributor shaft is a cam. when the cam point crosses the point on the magnet, a signal is altered and that alteration tells your ecu where tdc, cyl, ckp is at. easier to replace as a whole by changing the distributor.
