Hey guys I just bought this car was wondering if you can tell me. I was told its a jdm 99 si motor and tranny. The first circle say 89 and last circle says 8. I dunno sounds like is an 89 engine to me. It also says pr3-2 and has 1 11 111 aboue it. Please help.

A 99 Si motor is not a Japanese engine.

Does the code on the left side of the block say B16A or B16A2 ?

If it was a USDM b16...it would read - b16a2 - which came in the 99 and 00 civic Si.

Looks like you have a 1st gen JDM b16 - not much diff from the 2nd gen - a little less power than the 2nd gen

If you get a chain, you ordered the wrong stuff lol... but everything should be fine

Whoever sold you that timing chain kit should be fired for being stupid. Whether your engine is an 89 or a 98, Hondas didn't have timing chains until the introduction of K-series engines.
