what ECU does 94 delsol vtec(B16a3) have?? please tell me plz cuz my engine is running rich. i got it checked the guy told me my o2 good and cat converter good. and saying my computer is not sending outputs to o2. he told me that i need to replace ECU. i dunno wat kind ECU fits my car and pass smog easily. leave msg plzz thxx

P30 = B16A3 ECU (del Sol VTEC)
P28 = D16Z6 ECU (del Sol Si, Civic Si, Civic EX)

Try googling it if you don't believe me. The P30 is somewhat rare (the only OBD1 B16 car we got was the del Sol from 94-95), but the P28 is very common and can be easily chipped so it's much more commonly used.

Also, if you need to know what ECU your car has, you can just look at your own

There was no Si Vtec, its one or the other. Del Sol trim designations are as follows:

S -> D15B7 (1993 - 1995) D16Y7 (1996 - 1997)
Si -> D16Z6 (1993 - 1995) D16Y8 (1996 - 1997)
Vtec -> B16A3 (1994 - 1995) B16A2 (1996 - 1997)

Why Honda used "Vtec" as a trim designation is beyond me, they could have just as easily called it the Del Sol SiR and made things a whole lot simpler.

will the P30 ECU (dohc, vtec, b16a3) run a b20vtec? or do I need to find a new ecu...

btw OP find a friend with a p30 and borrow it, this will tell you what the deal is without spending moneys.

cuz ppl told me p30 is not dohc vtec b16a3. i can pick up a 2nd hand one around 100 dollars. i just want to make sure if i get right ecu

i would solve this by going outside and checking the ecu on my 94 del slo vtec.

but it's not here, it's at my friend's house.

and where on the ecu does it say what kind it is. i'm going to go check the one on my dohc vtec 94 del slo. It has a b16a3 stock, stamped on the block. time to settle this debate with facts.
