95 Civic EX 2 door coupe - Doesn't Rev past 4000 rpm
My friend Steve posted what I am about to Reiterate..
This Civic came with a D16z6 engine and Automatic Transmission. They popped a timing belt, then replaced the engine with a D15B vtec-e engine. Didn't change Anything. Straight bolt in. Now the car Doesn't Rev past 4000 rpm's. What Is the ECU that Goes with this D15b vtec-e??
Another thing. How do i Identify if this is a JDM engine Or OBDII '96 or newer engine place in my obd1 computer system.??

on the front of the engine it has a block stamp. that stamp tells if you where it came from. also there is a vin tag on the back of the block. it will tell you even more.
the vtec-e i beleive uses a propriety ecu. an ecu that controls rpm because of the "E" vtec. 3 stage yes? some1 in the market place is selling a 3 stage vtec-e ecu..

crap. i missed that it is an auto trans. there is no p07 at ecu. you may be able to have your p06 chipped to run the z1, but i doubt it. odds are that they re used the ex trans, the p06 at ecu will not run the trans correctly if that is the case. you'd need to start with a p28 at and go from there.
