Weird noise when starting car, AFTER clutch install??????
I just got a new clutch put in. When I start my car I get a noise that sounds like the noise you here when you start your car while its already running. Any idea what would cause this to happen right after the clutch replacement? If I turn it of and start it right back up it wont do it, but if it sits for a little then it happens again.

did you change the throw out bearing that came with the clutch? could be that. did you try to step on the clutch to see if the noise goes a way?

it only makes the noise on initial startup (when you turn the key)

From the sound of it i get the impression that theres something going on between the starter gear and the flywheel ring gear, somehow sounds like the starter gear isn't meshing right.
