Re: vtec not working on gsr in eg
Dude, he has a stock GSR with probably a stock intake manifold. The p28 is for a SOHC vtec motor and doesn't have the circuitry to deal with his intake air bypass valve, nor does it have the circuitry to deal with a knock sensor. He already has a stock p72 ecu, he just needs to run a wire to the solenoid. How is buying a whole new ECU and then getting it chipped with GSR basemap going to help him if VTEC isn't wired up?

A few months prior I did the same exact thing to my car except with a p28 ecu. Plug up your vtec sel. If I am not mistaken there is one blue wire (which goes to the ecu) and one black wire (which is ground). Find the according pin on the ECU (what I ended up doing was cutting one that was being used for the gear selection indicator, put it into the plug on the ecu where the vtec pin was located, and ran it straight to the sel). It worked perfectly the first time for me.
