Manifold swap trouble
My friend and I are trying to put a 1999 EX Manifold and Throttle Body on a 1996 DX D16y7 Engine. We are not able to get the car to run smoothly, it just keeps puttering back and fourth like your just sitting there reving engine. We noticed that on the Throttle body of the DX that there is a plug insert that is not on the Throttle body of the EX. We are not sure wether this is important for the car to run properly or not. When we were swapping the manifold and the Throttle body we did smell antifreeze in the throttle body when we took it off of the manifold. We are also going to be putting in a AEM V2 cold air intake as well. Any help would be awesome, and if you by any chance know where any or all of the plugs go for the swap then that would be Awesome as well.

You need to use the y7 throttle body on the y8 manifold.
Swap the bronze throttle rotor piece from the y8 throttle body and put it on the y7 throttle body. Make sure you use the y7 throttle body gasket and not the y8 gasket.
Also make sure that you plug up the holes on the back of the y8 intake manifold with something. You can either remove that iacv and weld the holes shut or leave the iacv on and plug up the two coolant holes.
Make sure you plugged up or welded shut any air injection holes if you have a 99-00 y8 manifold.
There is also a small cruise control nipple on the rear driverside of the manifold. plug or weld it shut.
