I would just get one of these, Its called a piggyback drain plug, you can get it in an oversize so it will cut new threads and seal properly, when you have to change the oil you just remove the smaller plug inside

put JB weld on the stock drain plug and lock it into place. Then weld one of these on

That's pretty neat. Here an idea, what about welding that over the original drain hole area, then he don't have to re-drill?

u could just tap and die it. they make kits for that and it would only take like 15 to 20 min and u will be done with it. and it would be good as new.

I was told by several people that the oil pan's too thin to be tapped and die'd

no idea, but thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll try the fram solution first, followed by the welding hte nut shut and using the oil extractor and go from there

Iono about that one chief, I have a '00 MKIV Jetta and it's got a regular 'ol drain plug which works 100%.

Those suredrain hose thingie take forever to empty out your oil.. Mine is sitting in my shed somewhere.

might just be the diesel's, but I have a buddy with a 00 and another with an 06 and they both use that
