Default Stolen motor suspected, anybody run a VIN please?

Just like the title says. I have a VIN # that my friend and I suspect to be stolen. Please let me know if you can run a VIN, and, will it be able to tell you if the motor/car is stolen.

Thanks,

Migs

If there is a VIN # on the block, then I can use that. The VIN # has to be 17 characters long. My membership ends on the 29th of this month and I have unlimited access. Just e-mail if you want some info. on your chassis or engine. Or you can sign up at carcheck.com.

The cops can find out info on a motor just from the block #. When Freeman(NWP4LIFE) got car jacked, and they recovered his car, the police ran the block #. Just from that Block # they knew if the motor was stolen or not, and that last car it was registered to. So when they asked freeman where he got his motor his story matched up, cause he bought the motor legit from a friend who was parting out his ITR. Just goes to show you the cops got there **** together. If you buy stolen parts, your contributing to the problem.

Kimball, thanks for letting us know the situation, but.....

Just so you know, nobody is buying stolen parts here. I was working on a GSR motor, (again) , that we suspected stolen. So we wrote down the VIN's etc.

Since you did bring that story up. What if they ran my block code, since I have a JDM B20B? Car gets confiscated?

Why would they confiscate your car for having a JDM motor?

At the same token, if a car is stolen, then recoverd and salvaged. Does that mean the purchaser of the new engine has a stolen engine still?
