stock ek radio
tommorow i will be putting an aftermaket headunit in my friends 97 civic hatch and was wondering how do i remove to factory headunit

well the way that i did it was, i stuck my hand behind the radio and poped it out. there should be an opening right next to the gas pedel, if you got little hands then stick it up there and pop it out. you should put the new head unit on the bottom near the cup holder, so when your parked you can lift up the cup cover and hide you head unit, then for the big gap that your old head unit left get a block off plate

Here's the steps:
1. Remove driver-side bolster pannel (the big plastic piece that holds your switches and fuse pannel).
2. By pressing in the sides, drop your glovebox.
3. Remove the center bolster pannel (the one that holds your 12v socket).
4. With a stubby philips-head screwdriver, look up behind where the center bolster was and unscrew two silver screws (they look like computer case screws).
5. Push radio out.
6. Remove all plugs (din, antenna, harness, security).
