Default Starting Problem - Starter from Autozone

I've got this starting problem. It just clicks. The motor doesn't turn. I've researched through the threads as well as using both factory service and electrical troubleshooting manuals. I've gone through everything.

1. Checked and cleaned positive and negative terminals.
2. Checked and cleaned ground (Negative cable to the chasis & ground cable from tranny to chasis).
3. Checked positive cable (Disconnected positive cable from starter and checked voltage from cable to starter body). 12.67v
4. Checked Starter Cut Relay
5. Checked Clutch Interlock Switch.
6. Checked fuses #41(80a) & #39(50a) under the hood fuse box.
7. Checked fuse #18(7.5a) under the dash fuse box.
8. Checked Battery 12.67v. Also took the car to Autozone and hooked it up to their tester and it passed.
9. Replaced Starter. Autozone AC Delco Brand.

What is causing this? Are the starters from Autozone just bad? I'm asking because I read in one thread a member said that he just broke down and bought a starter from Honda.

Thanks for any input.

If you've done all troubleshooting and tested the start, then check your main relay. It's probably your main relay.

Thanks for the input guys. I really appreciate it. It's my DD and it's a bitch to push start it.

The main relay doesn't have to do with the starting system. I verified that with the diagrams. I believe it does have to do with the fuel pump and hear that buzzing. Thanks though.

Have you verified the new starter is servicable?

No. I'm just presuming it works. I guess I could take it out and run back to autozone to have them bench test it. I did however check the solenoid following the instructions from the service manual since its pretty straight forward. All checked out (continuity) between the S terminal and ground as well as the S and M terminals.

Thanks for the input guys.

The best thing to do is narrow down your options by doing bench tests, and continuity checks.

You'll definitely find the problem then.

Put 12v to the S terminal with the CAR IN NEUTRAL and see if the starter goes. This would inticate a problem on the ingnition side. But if it clicks, your batery amperage may be low. try another battery you know is good. Otherwise check your ground.

are you talking about jumping the starter? (sorry bit confused)

If you are then make sure the e-brake is up too, I think that bypasses the clutch switch at the starter motor

Good call stock_honda_coupe!!! That's actually #2 step in the service manual. I guess when I was doing it before, I was too pusy to hold the wire in the positive terminal since it sparks and actually melts the post. I'd just touch it and get the starter to click. However, this time I was deperate and did it like a man and held it in there and this time got the starter to turn the motor instead of just a click as before. This narrows it down to the black/white wire between the S terminal and its connections to the black/red wire from the starter cut relay.
