Stalling Issue

Stalling Issue
I have a 94 Honda Civic that is due for a Water Pump and Timing Belt change. We've been waiting for a project to finish to decide if we're going to sell the car or replace those things and keep the car for a while longer.
Yesterday the clutch felt stiff, almost as if it was grinding against something and the engine sounded a little louder to me than usual the last time I drove it last night.
This morning everything felt back to normal on the way to work (10 minute drive).
I just went on a quick drive for my lunch break and my car started stalling whenever I was using the break and the clutch at the same time. After a few of these stalls, I could smell something odd -- almost like a melting plastic smell. When I left to head back to work there was a squealing belt sound when I started the car and sometimes when I shifted.
Seems to me this has to do with the clutch or transmission, but I don't know a ton about cars so I'm wondering if it could be because we've waited too long to replace the water pump or timing belt. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Re: Stalling Issue
Has nothing to do with not doing the timing belt and water pump, but it does seem like the clutch is about to take a dump on you, or it already has.The burning smell would most likely the clutch. Now you gonna have to do timing belt, water pump, and now clutch. But then again it could be the a failed master or clutch slave cylinder.
