Default SRS reset; inspection problems 'NOT READY'

So at somepoint i started the car with my seat out giving me an srs light, i left in on for probably 3-4k miles because it didn't bother me a whole lot. Inspection time comes around so i reset the light with paperclip trip, light goes away, drive around for maybe 30 miles, fail for 'NOTREADY'. I'm thinking I just need to drive around more. A trip to the mountains, 350 miles, and a week later i try again. I still fail for 'NOT READY'. WTH

I asked the inspection guy if they plugged my car into the computer, and he said something like 'it's not a plug'. I tried to explain how I thought it worked 'you guys hook up a computer to the plug under my dash' and he was being odd by just repeting general information and acting like he didn't unserstand me.

Do I need to drive 500+ miles? Or maybe i messed something up when i wired up my alarm, is there a fuse to check? My friend has an obdII reader/resetter I'm gonnig to try to test with.

catalytic converters: NOT READY
Oxygen Sensors: NOT READY
Evaporative System: NOT READY
Overall Readiness Result: FAIL

Those are the 4 things highlighted, the others say 'Ready' or 'Not used'.

im assuming you unhooked your battery to clear the airbag light or something like that? that clears everything out of your system and the monitors for those systems that say not ready need to be reset. typically you have to drive some miles like over 50 for all the monitors to reset.

the srs reset is the paperclip trick: unplug srs connector from under dash fuse, loop the circuit, start ignition and wait for blinks, unplug paperclip light will come back on, plug back in.

i was reading on Nissan forums that some cars require certain # of trips. Ill try it again this Thurs

If I fail again im going to try and reset the ecu (neg battery terminal)

these are called your Readiness Monitors..there are certain driving conditions (trips) that u gotta to do to set these..try doing this, it should set the 02 and cat if they are working properly

1. start he car up cold and let it idle until warmed up (fan comes on 1x)
2. drive the car at a steady speed of 25-60mph for at least 6miles
3. that should set the 02 and cat monitor by now, if not then there might be something wrong

I had the exact same thing happen last year. I was going to suggest this if you hadn't found the solution. Sucks too, wasted a lot of time (but not money) on the problem.
But I have my own OBD2 code reader now with readiness monitors!
