Default Something stuck in spark plug hole?

Just bought a y7 and in spark plug number 3 theres something screwed in there like the spark plug threads were stripped. A new sparkplug fits into the slot, but the plug wires sticks out alot. I don't know what it is. I'll try to post pics when I get to the garage.

ended up being me compression tester end.

only way to find out is by removing the head.
its relatively easy. just go buy a head gasket.

It might be the threaded piece of a compression tester. Try putting locktight on an old sparkplug. Thread it in let it dry and see if you cant back it out enough to remove it. It happened to me a few weeks back. lol.

Haha! Thats not a bad idea! Think of all the money you could save only buying 3 spark plugs instead of 4. When you find out what it is thats stuck let me know. I might stick one in my number 3 spark plug hole too just so your not the only one.

No your probably right this happened to me the compression tester adapter got stuck in there and i didn't realize it until I screwed the spark plug in and it was sticking way out. I tried all those tricks these guys mentioned and nothing worked. Most adapters can be removed with a socket but they are too big for the socket to fit into the hole on the head. So i bought the shortest 18mm socket i could find and attached it to my drill, then ran it up against a chop saw with the socket turning on the drill so it would stay round and eventually i got it small enough to fit into the spark plug holes, it only took me like 5 min of grinding.

I think megotmeroundeye hit the spot. I think it is the end of my compression tester.... I loctited it to a spark plug. I'll take it out tomorrow.

Hey... At least I knocked off $50 from the final price=].

Pic is posted.

LoL!

Looks like a spark plug anti-foul adapter a.k.a. "foul adapter" to me.

Is this car a smoker???

You aren't going to believe this, but...

I had a car that burned a quart of oil per day!

And... if I didn't run "foul adapters", the spark plugs would quit working, e.g. they would foul out one-by-one. "Foul adapters" keep the oil away from the spark plug, so they won't foul out, blah, blah, blah...

Anyway, that's what it looks like to me...

Now that you have the pic up I'm sure its the end of a compression tester. If the lock tight doesnt hold up, go get the permanent lock tight and try again. I think its the blue kind. You may have to heat it with a torch to get your tester piece back off the plug after its out.

Take care

I use Loctite every day, at my workplace.

The 'nasty stuff' is green aka Loctite 648. This stuff is badazz! You use it for things that you NEVER want to move or come apart, like camshaft bearings in blocks.

Basically, it goes like this - Blue for everyday stuff. Red for long-term retention. Green if you want to 'weld' it together. Gray (aka 660) if the hole is sloppy.

Loctite is made from acrylic so, yes, a torch will destroy it - thank God!

Makes sense, logical. But if I put the spark plug in all the way, it bends the L thing on the end and it hits the tip. I'll take it out later today. hopefully I can take another compression test and it'll be better than the one it was showing me the other day...
