93 sol just put a new tranny in it, it doesnt grind in anygears or nothing like that but when i go to shift i have to push in on clutch and give it like 2 seconds than it will go in gear, i cant shift quick or itll never go in gear, tried adjusting the clutch but didnt really help, maybe i didnt adjust it right, anyone have any idea when i first bought it it shifted fine about 2 yrs ago then tranny went to **** replaced it and now this its athe hydraulic clutch for a d16z6

lol that sucks i figured it was the clutch goin out thanks for the advice im gettin reaDY TO drop a b18 gsr in my del sol does anyone have any advice on what stage clutch or what brand to get im not gonna turbo or anything like that just headers and cold air intake maybe a lil engine work but nothing extreme

Cutch is bad. It's not grabbing to allow disengagement from trans-to-motor to let the car shift. You might as well check out everything else too ie pressure plate, throw out bearing, and flywheel. I remember back in early summer this year, I was having somewhat similar problems. It turned out to be my flywheel. (It was cracked to hell).

thanks yall ima just get a new clutch im plannin on gettn a b series engine they sell stage 1 thru 3 on the internet ive seen what brand and stage shall i get

This is personal preference.

I got an exedy stage 1 organic clutch, it holds like 200ft/lbs of torque. should be good enough for your purposes.

ACT makes some nice clutches too. flywheel upgrade is also a good idea, I did mine.

okay can anyone explain tho why the stages go from 1 to 3 like what would u need a stage one for then stage 2 or stage 3 does it go by ur horspower or turbo or what cuz im doin a b20 with gsr head i dont plan on goin turbo but i could so im kinda confused

the stages have to do with torque ratings.

with exedy - stage 0 = oem (166ft/lb or something, i dunno)
stage 1 = 212ft/lb
stage 2 = 240ft/lb (something like this)
stage 3 = 300ft/lb (pulling number out of my ****, look it up yourself)

with ACT - things get confusing real quick. You can interchange the pressure plate and the disc, so a weak pressure plate with a race disc would equal high torque handling but shitty drivability (car shaking when clutch let out) or you could get a high pressure plate with a normal clutch disc and it would be a stiff pedal but not hold a lot of torque...

That's why I went with exedy, because it was cheaper and simpler in terms of stage/ratings.

a b20vtec can get pretty torquey so you need to figure how far you're going to build the motor. stock, don't expect to exceed like 200ft/lbs. But if you're doing cams, i/h/e, valves, pistons (raised compression) and a buncha other sheit, you can expect your total torque to exceed 200ft/lb. In which case you'd need a stage 2 or stage 3, because theoretically the stage 1 would slip with all the torque.

best of luck, post up further questions because I just went through all this hassle of choosing a clutch. I'm doing a crvtec too, when i get the money...

id suggest an exedy stage 1 or 2. if you are goign to street the car mostly id suggest the stg1 full disc kit and go with the opptional new lightweight flywheel they have they have goo dprices and great quality. of course you can go with act or centerforce as well they are great. but a bit more for the same thing as exedy. ive used exedy alot (5 or 6 cars now) and they have all lasted and held nice.

alright well i still got my d16z6 in my del sol but im gonna be putnn the b20 in it in a few months im gonna do the pistons and cams and all that **** but i aint gonna turbo or nothin will it be fine to get the stage 2 clutch until i throw in my b20 cuz its about to go any time
