Default S2000 engine start button wiring

The seller below makes a really clean relay wiring but I don't wanna pay 70 bucks and do nothing by myself

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

Really good detailed step-by-step write up for the installation using the button sold by the ebay seller above

What the problem is I have no idea about the wiring
there are 3 main different wiring diagram I found so far
The one below shows how to wire it w/ a typical alarm
http://crx.hacki.st/starter-button.html

The one below

And the one below shows the wiring getting from the ebay seller

or are there any way I can just make the wiring looks and works like the DC5's one from jdmland.com...like getting the engine start wires from s2000 on majestichonda.com (couldn't find it yet)

Should I even connect the 12v to the ebrake light power so power is complete off when ebrake is off.
But then will I get the light for the button ?
How can I wiring to the relay just like the one sold on ebay because that one didn't wire the positive and the negative wire to the cigar lighter like diagram 2

Thanks

Would the install on the ITR/RSX be similar for an EM2?

I have spent hours searching for an answer to this question as well, but came up with nothing useful. Sadly, the links posted in the first post of this thread are no longer online.

I know there are many threads on here and other sites about s2000 engine start buttons but none explicitly give info on the materials needed nor the specifics on how to wire in a 96-00 Civic.

You obviously need the s2000 engine start button from Honda (or another brand). I have seen in pictures and ebay auctions that lead me to believe you need some kind of a relay. Is there a relay included in the OEM honda s2000 start button switch assembly (Part No. 35881-S2A-911)?

If anyone has come across this info could you please help me out?

Thanks.

No the OEM button does not come with a relay. I just bought one from my local honda dealership and cannot figure out the wiring for it. Ive looked at a ton of wiring diy's but cannot find one that works. I have a 96 integra, and am really really pissed right now. If i figure out the wiring i will for sure let you know

1. Figure where ya wanna put it. Make sure there is enough room behind it. I put mine here:

2. Make a template-like this:
Then dremel it out (took like 2 minutes).

3. Now you need to decide whether you want to run 1 wire or 3 thru the firewall as this determines whether you put the relay in the engine bay or passenger compartment. I opted with engine bay so I only had to run 1 wire thru the firewall and it's a lot easier to get to that fuse box.

4. Go to the BACK of the engine fuse box and find a wire that only has power when the key is in the ON(II) position. You can check this by back probing the BACK of the fuse box with a test light while your buddy turns the ignition ON and OFF. This is important as you don't want your starter going when the engine won't start.

5. Disconnect the wires on the battery.

*Note: Use same gauge wire as wires on the relay. If your relay has no wires and your using connectors use same gauge wire as starter wire on the one side and same gauge wire as the start switch on that side.

6. Splice into that wire you found in the BACK of the fuse box and run it to 85 on the relay.

7.Run a wire from 86 on the relay to this pin:
in the back of the start switch.

8. Run a wire from this pin:
to ground. You can make your own or I just used the cigarette lighter ground.

9. Find your starter. Splice into the positive wire right before it hits the starter. Run that wire to 87 on the relay.

10. Run a wire w/inline fuse from batt positive to 30 on the relay.

11. Connect your battery cables, turn your ignition to ON(II) then push the start button. Remember, if you have a standard, you have to push your clutch in to start also. If it doesn't work you wired it wrong.

12. If it does work, heat shrink or tape all connections. I even wrapped the relay with like 3 layers of tape. lol

To summarize:
85- from fuse box
86- to pin 1 on start switch
pin 2- to ground
87- to starter
30- from batt positive

Good luck.
