s20 jdm d15b tranny Questions....
does anyone know were to get this tranny?
should come from civic vti's
i think the gearing is the same is the final gear the same???
do they all come with lsd or is it an option???
is the lsd even good enough to spend the extra money and time finding one??

Re: s20 jdm d15b tranny Questions.... (gsr2jdm)
I did a little research about the gear ratios and this is what I found:
EX/Si
1st-----3.250
2nd-----1.900
3rd-----1.250
4th-----0.909
5th-----0.750 for Si HB and Del sol Si
or------0.702 for 2 dr or 4 dr sedan
Final Drive---4.250
JDM Civic VTi (EG4) Year(s) 1991-1999
Engine Counterpart: D15B
Type: hydro
Gear Box:
1st: 3.25
2nd: 1.9
3rd: 1.25
4th: 0.909
5th: 0.75
Reverse: 3.153
Final Drive: 4.25
I have a JDM d15b tranny in my car right now and there seems to be no difference between USDM and JDM ratios...so.....USDM SI/EX = JDM D15b vtec....correct me if I'm wrong please. As to where to get one...go here: http://www.alljapaneseengines.com/ I got my engine here....nice guys!

Good info, if you want to check, heres the honda info, just click on the - Leading particular - link
http://babelfish.altavista.com....html
Also tells you it came with an optional Viscous coupling (Bis refuse coupling system LSD = bad translation!), but i believe only on models with ABS and rear discs (With LSD and set manufacturer option ), of which mine had neither
It may not be the best LSD, not as good for road as the Type R Torsen's, but if you find one, its better than nowt, i will let yoou know, as i have now found one, should have it in next year
Hope that helps
