Default high revving gets rid of carbon build up?????

^^^^^^^^^^ is there truth to this at all?

i revved higher than usual (5k+ rpms) on my d15b7 w/ i/h/e. My engine seems to idle a little smoother now. I was just wondering if the carbon build up is now gone or if im just imagining things

Mine hits redline twice a minute, hehe. Could be just that your motor hasnt been revved too high, and maybe knocked some carbon out from the air pressure, who knows. try some seafoam and clean it, maybe that'll help.

If your engine isnt broken or has a problem, redlining it is fine, its just a engine speed.

i read about seafoaming but never have done it yet. you just pour 1/3 of the bottle into the brake booster hose (i think)...then 1/3 into the gas tank and the final 1/3 into the block. After about 100miles change the oil and your good?

I don't know about the high revving but I do know that every couple of weeks I take my car on a 2hr drive on the highway to another town to "free" it up a bit. Maybe I just my imagination but it does help. I normally only drive in down so higher rpms arent really an option but its stop/go crap so after a week or 2 of this my car starts to feel a little sluggish. I also find my motor burns some oil after a lot of city drviing (stop/go crap) and once i drive it for like 30mins on the highway this blue almost goes away completly. Just a personnal experience with no stats/ numbers to prove anything though

I have heard this as well. Not sure if it true or not but I dont worry too much about it, my car is not a stranger to the redline.
