Car was broken into, destroyed the ignition. Car won't even start now. Any idea how much it will cost to replace the ignition + labor?

buy the part from Honda and replace it yourself. The part for my crx was about $200 w/ an employe discount. Came with everything needed to replace ( ignition, new key's, wiring harness, new collar and break away bolts)

mine took about an hour to replace, so i cant imagine it taking that much longer on a something different like a eg or ek civic

BTW, if my memory serves correctly, book time @ Honda was 1.8 for this job

well, if you take off the plastic that covers the ignition stuff,its prety straight foward. You should see everything that needs to be done just by looking at it. The toughest part for me was the remainders of the breakaway bolts. They're almost like rivits, so either a dremel with cutting wheel or a hammer and chisle are needed.

From there, once everything is off up top, just follow the wire harness to the fuse box under the dash and disconnect the plugs.

But always have your helms there for reference just incase. I had Alldata for refrence, but like i said, its straight foward and i dont think you should have any trouble

Hey I have an ignition for you if you want it. It's a brand new Honda Ignition w/o the electrical parts. I used all of the electrical parts to repair my own ignition. So I have left for sale an ignition w/2 keys. I bought this for $330 from Honda, and I am very pissed off about it still. So I have to sell what is left and let me know if you want it.....$200

its under $200 bucks at the dealership $110.00 here in socal. and install it yourself using the book... and you can use your old key cylinder also. just follow the manual.

i had to do mines before, n yah took me about 30 minutes to put a new on. where are u in oahu? where did ur car get broken into? sorry to hear that...laters
