rep spoon mirror help
I was looking for replica spoon mirrors for 1992 hatch and noticed none of them have studs at the mounting plate.I just cant really justify spending 150+ on mirrors do any of the replica brands have studs on them for mounting or is it possible to pull the stock mirror studs and install them into the rep mirrors

Re: rep spoon mirror help
YES. The stock studs will ABSOLUTELY work. You have to drill out the hole on the rep a little though. That's what I did.
ALSO the mirrors will ALMOST definitely be completely useless due to the way they just slap the glass on there in ABOUT the right place. The edge of the housing will usually hit the glass before it's at a useful angle for LHD. Go buy some 3M double sided OUTDOOR tape and some GOOP.
You can CAREFULLY pry the glass away from the cheap plastic retainer inside and re-position it. While it's out I recommend spraying the raw fiberglass inside most of em with black spray paint. If it's already just a black ABS rep this isn't at all necessary.
Clean ALL the old cheap tape off and put the new 3M on the plastic part firmly after cleaning both the plastic piece and the back of the mirror with alcohol. Position the glass BEFORE you stick it to the plastic piece by doing it while the housing is attached to the car and you're in the driver seat.
I now have what have got to be the most functional set of CF spoon reps I've EVER seen.
Can take pics if ya want but it's really just time and patience. Most knock off parts require lots of both to make em look/fit right.

Re: rep spoon mirror help
thank you this is exactly what i was looking for i just looked at the stock ones(i was not home earlier) and noticed it was a stud that could be removed. For some reason with the ones i have i can see pretty well out of them ? Also will the oem gasket fit on the reps I have yet to try but just figured i would ask since you have done this already
