Rear Hatch - Glass Change or Wing Delete?

Rear Hatch - Glass Change or Wing Delete?
Okay, so I have the 2000 Special Edition hatch (it was only available, but it came with the ugly midwing)
Yes. That ugly thing.
I have three options:
1 - Remove the wing and pay a body shop to have the resulting holes filled and painted - from what I've canvassed, this seems to be a pretty expensive option.
2 - Someone is offering me a wing-free hatch for a decent price, but the glass is broken. I could have this repaired at an auto glass shop for a price that might be comparable to option 1, considering I will need to retint the window.
3 - I'm not totally sure if this is possible, but the ideal method for me would be to simply swap the glass from my current hatch to the one I can buy - is this possible for me to DIY? Or get done cheaply at a shop?
Thanks in advance.

Option 4: Don't sweat the wing. It looks fine (good, even), and you can put that $ towards a more useful change. I think it adds a bit of flair to the back side. Looks naked without. Look, you got a Special Edition - these are a *relatively* rare vehicle. Count yourself lucky!

Haha! I appreciate the appeal, but I'm actually pretty hellbent on removing it - I do feel it's pretty jarring to the entire image of the car. I just really, really, dislike it. Rare or not (actually, these are everywhere where I am), the wing is really the only major thing that separates it from the normal DX trim - I tried to grow to love it, but I just can't... LOL, thanks though. :>
