Default Reached a sad day in my life...i'm going to take my car to the Honda Dealer.

UPDATE! Car is at the dealer being diagnosed...will let you all know what's up as soon as she's back. THanx for everything H-T

UPDATE #2 I get to the dealer...and guess what? The technician gave up on my car. Apparently, he tested the harness and a few other things before realizing that i have a "swapped car." They did the obvious. They blamed the car not running on the fact that it's modified.........said the engine and harness don't belong in the car, so it won't run. What a bunch of dipshits I'm getting desperate people...it seems like NOBODY can fix this problem....??? Anybody know of any good performance shops that don't rape, that may be able to help me???

Well, after countless repairs and manual diagnosises on my car....I've finally found something i couldn't fix. At the moment, I've destroyed 2 starters trying to get it running - i'm completely stumped.

The car won't even attempt to turn over. I've checked all ground wires...tried jumping the clutch engagement switches. Switched out MAIN relays with friends cars. Jumped starter relays. CHECKED GROUND WIRES AGAIN. Charged battery..... I just can't figure it out? I wish i had a voltmeter...but apparently, the starter solenoid IS getting power (testing light.) Obviously, it's not getting enough. If i recall correctly, it should be getting 12 volts to crank the starter...but nothing cranks. The starter doesn't click. I destroyed the starter by directly touching the solenoid with a direct wires from the positive terminal on my battery. I'm all out of ideas...Somehow, from when i turn my igition, to the starter...there must be a loss/cut of power. Bleh.

I'm taking her to the dealer monday . If anybody wants to take a crack at it, i'm located in Pasadena. I'll pay obviously, just giving first dibs to honda-tech peeps. If not, i'll just pay top dollar at the dealer.

Cliff notes: I'm pissed.

Timing belt is still good. Before i destroyed the starter with too much voltage, it would crank up on the first try with a direct wire. Than i fried it out. I switched out the main relay, with yet again another starter. Would not even ATTEMPT to start . It definately sounds like an electrical issue, though. I pulled every possible fuse out from under the dash and checked them. They were all fine. However, i did NOT check the battery 80 fuse....but theoretically...would nothing get power if the battery fuse were out? Sorry if i'm confusing.

u touched the power +12V to the starter solenoid black/white wire? wouldn't that just crank the starter over?

how'd you burn it out like that? isn't that how you hot wire it?

Yes that is how you hot wire it, i don't know how it burned out, but it did. And no it wouldn't just turn over, it bypasses clutch engagement, and starts the car...assuming it's in neutral so you don't cut off your legs..I've done it several times.

....I'm lost

did you try replacing the starter? sounds like you have a bad winding in the starter. or maybe your solenoid on the starter is bad. take your starter of and try to run it off the car. that way you can see if it's the starter circut or the starter itself.

I would take the starter to autozone to get it checked on. Depending on what part of Pasadena your at i might be able to stop by tomorrow. But im not sure, monday i could for sure if you would like.

yo im not claiming to know nething about this or that i can help, also im not gonna say for sure my cars problem is the same as yours... im running a del sol si d16z6 and my problems started when my car started diming out everywhere lights and stuff but the safc-2 bat voltage was reading 20+V... when i parked it at home it wouldnt crank at all no matter what i couldnt even straight wire the starter; but i could push start it so iknew the motor wasnt siezed... anyhow heres what i did before my car crunk again with the key.

replaced starter, battery, altenator, checked all grounds sanded cleaned and replaced, replaced ELD unit (the whole engine fuse box because its built in), went on a replaced the fuse box under the dash and put new fuses all around. <-- no luck on ne of that
then...
i replaced the starter again and the altenator belt (overkill the belt was old)... unpluged my turbo timer and all unneccessary electronics...., then i was looking at the grounds on the wiring harness and theres on that has four wires that come in to two connectors that was grounded to my thermostat housing... a person told me the thermostat housing should be aluminum and wouldnt ground so i took that and cleaned it and grounded it to my starter, then made a push button start to try and by pass the ignition switch, then replaced my main relay with a new on... and it started right up... i unwired the button and it crunk with the key... i pluged in all my electronics and it cranked.... but heres the weird thing... two days later... (tonight) im driving down the road and every thing dims out agian... i think the honda-gods hate me... now the safc-2 is reading 7v and less... doubt i helped but all and all im saying check ur grounds again clean them add more if you have to and make sure ur grounded to good bare metal.

Yea i tried another ECU and everything. Lusekid came over to help me out, i really appreciated that. Ultimately, we couldn't get it running. We even used his multimeter and verified that the starter was getting 12volts. However, it's back-feeding back into the wiring. There must be a short or something because i just checked the starter within a couple hours before we tried it. This car has left the best of us stumped....and I have too much school and work to focus on it right now.

I'll let everyone know what the problem was as soon as it returns from the Honda-Dealer. It's been there for an hour now...they're diagnosing it
