Radio problems.need help
I'm having some trouble installing a radio I got for my 2000 honda civic dx.I hooked up each wire from the car to the radio correctly and every time I hook the radio up my radio fuse pops.Someone said it could be a short but is there specifically a wire that would short out? Could it be the radio itself? the display still comes on the radio but it says have a nice day and shuts off. Please I need help I haven't had a radio in a long time.

There's an audio forum for this. But, are all the wires hooked correctly. It sounds like somethings shorting for sure. Have you checked all the wires and made sure nothing was touching?

On the harness going from my car there is a black ground wire and a black ground wire coming from the radio so wouldn't i splice the two together for the ground?

Well its one of the 3 for sure. Somethings shorting. Sounds more like a ground issue. I would change that first and go from there. If its turning out, I wouldn't think its battery related. Same with the constant power. I'd put my money on the ground.

Not a problem man. Post back if it doesn't work. Also, check and make sure its the correct fuse. I've seen many fuses blow because they weren't the correct size.

One thing that is almost always overlooked when installing stereo equipment is a proper ground. You can't just stick it to metal. 99% of the metal on the car has some sore of coating on it for corrosion resistance. You must always sand the spot for the ground down to ensure a proper connection.
Radios are simple. Power, Ground, then pos/neg speaker wires. And a fuse. Check all connections for exposed/touching wires. Check your power and make sure fuse is proper. If all of this appears to be intact but you still have issues, check it again because thats all it could be.
