hey guys, my brother swapped a d16z6 into his 98 hatch and the radiator fan does not come on. he checked the thermostat today and it worked so that is out of the question. he replaced the fan switch at the water neck and it still does not come on. If i jump the connector for the fan switch at the water neck, the fan works fine. could the new switch be broken? how can i test it?

Looks like you have done a nice job diagnosing so far. Have you checked the 15A fuse in the fusebox under the hood? Replace it even if it looks good just to be sure.

If he jumps the connector & the fan works, doesn't that mean the relay & wiring is working. I have the same problem and I got another fan switch and thermostat and the problem persists. How can he test the "switch" to make sure he didn't get a faulty part??

make sure the cooling system is bled properly. also it takes quite some time for the fan to turn on (about 200*). is the car overheating? can you confirm the coolant temp to be sure that the fan should even be on at that point
