they are different part numbers,so it appears so.but,i can't imagine they are actually different-maybe somebody who's actually compared them can comment.

yeah i checked majestic honda too. they are both different part numbers but it would be ridculous if the manufactuers actually changed it from 98-99. i just want to make sure because the front ends are different so theres a possibility.

yeah,you wouldn't think that they're different.
i do know that a friend of mine did the 99+ front end conversion on his 97,and he used the old latch with the new hood.
there is still the possibilty though that the two mount differently to the rad support.

fine.he didn't want to replace the support assembly,so he just got the body panels and lights.everything went together smooth.

i would hope the part number is different, seems whatever the hell they used in 96-98 were pieces of garbage and always broke, hopefully they redesigned it

I have a 99 civic coupe and the hood latch is the same for the 99 as it is for Civic 96,97,98
I inserted a picture for everyone to see:the bottom one is the old latch OEM(rusty)
new one is on top (no rust)and thats from ebay for 16$ for http://www.ebay.com/itm/231117035169?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITFit was perfect as you see in the picture it s exactly the same part, just aftermarket.

Sir, you just bumped a thread from 2006, for future reference next time please pay attention to the posting date.

In your effort to look cool by calling out a reply to an old thread, was a complete fail. If attilahun80's post wasn't conducive (which is was very helpful to many), then I could see your point. Anyways...
