Default Putting on oil pan gasket dry?

Have a 94 honda civic ex that will need the oil pan gasket replaced. Went to the parts store to get what i need and when asked about what type of RTV silicone to use he told me that because it is a rubber gasket that it should be installed dry. Anyone have experience with this?

Helms repair manual doesn't state it any other way, dry it is.

Not totally true. There are spots that use Honda Bond/Flange Sealant.

Permatex "The Right Stuff" Grey is the same thing. Black will work too but imports is grey.

It's mainly the corners of the gasket that encircle the crank shaft.

Same thing is done on the valve cover gasket.

I came back to say that, but its just 4 drops, not the entire gasket though.
