Power Steering reservoir keep it or remove it?
So I bought my 96 EK as a stripped shell. The only power steering components it has is the reservoir with the hoses attached to the rack and pinion. Now I do not plan on adding the pump and all the components to have power steering, b/c i dont want it. Should I keep the reservoir connected to the rack and pinion just so the assembly stays lubed/. This acts the same way as the omni power reservoir tank. what do you guys think?
The line that the hose goes to the pump needs to just be connected with the hose from the tank.

I believe if u wanna not have PS then u can just somehow loop the system. I think they sell a kit for that. I dont think u need to keep the resevoir if u have that kit.

Loop the power steering gearbox with a short hose at the two connections coming from the pump. Then splice a "T" junction into one of the gearbox fluid hard lines. Turn the wheel back & fourth to pump the extra "pressurized" fluid out (about half remains as lubricant inside). Finally, run a hose from the new T, to the empty P/S fluid reservoir. The reservoir then acts as a breather to allow pressurized air to escape from the gearbox radically reducing the effort required to turn the steering wheel...

i mean, omni power sells the kit, its liek a reservoir, but i have the oem one. I can just conenct the line that conencts to the pump, right back to the reservoir. This way, my rack and pinoin stays lubed and doesnt mess up. And i get to keep a portion of my power steering without the weight, and belt connection

please further explain, This makes great sense, but a little more depth would be great. Any sort of diagram would be awsome.

Here is a link to the thread that explains the Realtime Racing steering mod. The thread is a couple pages long, and you will have to read it all. There are a lot of people in this thread that don't understand what is being said, and they throw their two cents around like it's worth something. If you follow carfully what the knowledgable ones are saying about "venting" the gearbox, you can easily confirm what I have told you...
