Default pm7 pistons in y8 block

I'm looking rebuild the motor in my 98 si and try to get a little more torque out of it..

I have both zc block with DOHC head (practically identical to ls head)

and i have a full y8 block & sohc vtech head out of my motor ...

so the idea is to use the pm7 pistons & rods in the y8 block with the sohc head... and get a cheap high compression block..

however compression will be close to 13; ... so believe i need thick gasket to get it down to 12 or 11...

what do you guys think..

has anyone done this ... any recommendations?

thanks
