Icon2 Pic/Info request: Integra H-tech springs on EJ8

Well I haven't logged on in 3 years, but I've been around, learning as much as I can and building my car. Like people are always saying, most stuff has been covered already, so I just search for answers. But on this topic I haven't been able to find anything, so here I am.

I got my wife a '00 EJ8 2dr to be her summer car, since she enjoys my EG8 so much lol She wants to lower it, but not slammed. I'm thinking something around 1.5 maybe. She also like to take corners, so near stock spring rates are out, but so are back breakers.

I found that the Tein H-Tech springs for Integra have the rates I'm looking for, but not sure how it's going to lower the Civic. A B20Z swap with all accessories is planned, so I figure the front end should weigh about the same. But it only lowers .9" in the rear. From the springs I've seen that lower less than an inch, you can't tell it's dropped at all.

I figure someone is going to suggest coilovers, but really don't have the money for that right now.

Any helpful input or pictures are welcome. TIA.

I have H&R sports on my EG8 and was thinking of putting those on her car, but after my swap I have no clearance between my tire and fender on the drivers side. I almost wish I could raise it a little.

I guess this is why I couldn't find any pics of this set up lol

You don't need as much of a drop in the back really, If you look around you'll notice the front of a civic will generally sit higher than the back anyway, by an inch or so.

So you think that a 0.9" drop in the rear for an Integra won't leave me with a 3 finger gap or something on an EJ8?
And is my reasoning correct that the EJ8 with a B20 swap is going to have the same front weight as an Integra? Therefore whatever the drop is for the Integra with be what i can expect for the Civic?

'92 - '95 Civic EX sedan rear springs are the same part number as '94 - '01 Integra LS springs so that should give you some indication on how close the weights really are between the two cars. An EJ8 should be a very similar weight to either car I just mentioned. And yes, a B-series swapped civic will weigh about the same in front as an Integra.

Ok thanks! I appreciate the help. Don't know why it didin't dawn on me to check the stock part numbers. I've been looking at the aftermarket springs and most of them had different part numbers.

One last question. Is measuring from the bottom of the fender to the top of the tire a good way to estimate the drop? Or are there different dynamics at play that make that not accurate using the companies stated drop?

As an estimate yeah, that's reasonable. Don't expect it to be exact though, it may vary a bit, partly due to comparing used stock springs and shocks to new. The more the current springs are sagging the less drop you will see.

What has the consensus been on ITR lowering springs on other chassis? whatever the spring says it will lower plus 0.75" ? I'm finding much better rates for those than Civics.
