Can anything be done to improve the performance and acceleration of the civic EX without voiding the warranty?

Basicallyanything you do will cause Honda to say the warranty is voided. I used to just put all my stock stuff back on if I had to take the car in.

but it will only void the warranty on what you modify. for example if you install fog lights, you may void your electrical warranty, but if there's a problem w/ your engine it's still covered.

The only way you can avoid loosing warranty is if you only install things made by Honda and have them installed by Honda. You would need to go to the Honda dealership and ask the guy that controls all that warranty stuff.

The parts manager at my Honda dealer [who sold me a Tenzo R exhaust BTW] told me that basically you can't mess with anything between the throttle body and the cat. So, that leaves you with the intake and the [cat-back] exhaust to play with. Anything else will void the warranty...

Thats the reason I bought a honda. These cars are reliable so I didn't care about the warranty I started modding my brand new honda soon as I left the lot . But if you don't want to void you'r warranty then don't really do anything to you'r car untill you no longer care about wether or not the warranty is good.

That's another good point! If you want to 'mod' your car, don't worry about the warranty, and DON'T BUY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY!

if your worried about the warranty then don't mod your car. Plain and simple. Either wait till the warranty expires or learn to fix things yourself.

I read somewhere that AEM and Honda did a contract with eachother, this means that you can add AEM things to your car if you want and it wont void warranty. But i would ask before doing so.

Technically, the warranty cannot be void unless the aftermarket part you added caused the failed part to break (Magnusson-Morris Act; not sure if that's the correct spelling)... unless the warranty specifically states if ANY aftermarket/unauthorized part is used/installed/whatever, the company can void the warranty for all or related components.
